The Des Moines Register is reporting that Donald Trump has announced that he's not running for President as a Republican in 2012.
Good decision, especially since Donald Trump isn't really a Republican, and has given more money to crooked Democrat Congressman Charlie Rangel than any other in the past 20 years, and has donated to Weiner, Schumer, and Rahm Emanuel in the past year. What sort of "Republican" donates money to these guys? A phony Republican!
If Donald Trump really wanted to put his money and populist bullshit to good use, he would have challenged Barack Obama for the Democrat nomination. Trump could have gone out and hammered China, bitched about spending, and could have been tough on everything.
I would have loved to have seen Donald Trump challenge Obama to a game of golf, and demanded that it air live on TV. Trump wrote a book about golf in the 90's.
Obama on golf? He sucks:
I'm sure this decision is based on the reporting requirements necessary of candidates. We won't get to see how heavily leveraged Trump really is. Not that he excited real Republicans in any way.
The birth certificate thing? That was noisy theater. It really meant nothing. Few cared about that, except the douchebag Obama defenders in the media.
This is good for the Republicans. Actually, it's been a great week for the Republicans. The decks have been cleared of the Huckster (Mike Huckabee). Newt exploded before takeoff. Mitt Romney is wrecking whatever is left of his reputation by defending Romneycare. Now the Donald fires himself.
Not only that, but Tim Pawlenty has been running around Iowa this past week and so far he's been talking like a candidate should - critical of Obama but trying to be positive and attempting to present what conservative Republicans should be running on, which are always winning issues. I'm not saying I support him, but so far he at least appears to be the most sane, sensible, and appealing of the bunch.

Dear Newt Gingrich, Please Go Away Again
Could there be a more detestable Republican in 2011 than Newt Gingrich? Yes, there could be. I can think of some: Mitt Romneycare, Mike Hucksterbee, John Resign, Ru Paul, Donald Trump, Mitch Daniels, and so on.
Newt wasn't always hate-able, unless you were a rabid partisan Democrat in 1995 in which case you hated every Republican. But that's par for the course.
Newt had some good ideas with the Contract With America, most of which President Bill Clinton signed. Nobody ever gave Gingrich credit for helping to control spending in the House. During the 90s it was always "Bill Clinton cutting the deficit" even though he didn't do jack shit. Besides, where did all spending bills come from? Other than Dan Rostenkowski's ass.
So Newt has decided he wants to be President. Never mind that most Republicans consider him damaged goods following his resignation in 1998.
Yesterday, on Meet The Depressed, Gingrich said he supported a variation of the Obamacare Individual Mandate and stupidly analogized the forced purchase of health insurance under threat of fine and possibly imprisonment via the IRS with the forced purchase of automobile insurance.
Newt, buddy, you dumb ass, you might want to review Iowa's Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law. You see, Iowa does not have mandated automobile insurance. Most people do carry automobile insurance, but there are other options available.
Because the Individual Mandate is such a heated issue with Republicans and Conservatives (and a lot of Independents and many Democrats) hating it, mostly because it's Unconstitutional and Un-American, Newt was probably too busy crawling under the desk in an attempt to lick the boots of David Gregory to realize what a faux pas he had made. Today, after "clarifying" his position, Newt is now all of a sudden against the Individual Mandate.
It doesn't really matter. Newt Gingrich was never going anywhere in Iowa, or anywhere else for that matter and this just nails it. He should just move back to Virginia with the rest of the Republican and Democrat whores and ex-whores and do the lobbying thing for the rest of his life. Maybe he could find a new skirt to chase while he's at it.

Back From An Extended Hiatus
The millions of people who read this blog on a daily basis will be happy to know that the hiatus is over and the State 29 ship is finally righted, and just in time for President picking and kicking season.
I wish I could say my return from Kansas last year went smooth, but that wasn't the case. The job that brought me back to Iowa was not what I thought it was going to be, which was 40 hours, possible bonuses, nice people, and happy atmosphere. Instead I got forced overtime, no bonuses, broken promises, assholes, and a poisonous atmosphere. Welcome back to Iowa!
After putting my head down and dealing with it for too long, I eventually secured new employment with a company that's run more like a company rather than a madhouse. I am off anti-depressants and am finally having great sex again. Thought you'd like to know.
