The Des Moines Register Editorial Board Considers The Constitution To Be A Phallic Symbol

The Des Moines Register's Editorial Broad have hit a new low with today's editorial titled "Is That A Constitution In Your Pocket?"  Here's an excerpt:
Carrying a small copy of the Constitution is the new thing in Washington, according to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal.

It may well be a response to tea party accusations that Congress has forgotten about the document. A bulge in a pocket may replace the flag lapel pin. It's a symbol of, well, we're not sure what.
This is a typical response of Asshole Left who do not care about the Constitution, don't understand what it is, and have never read it.  They just use it as toilet paper.

The Register's Editorial Board is comprised almost entirely of a bunch of leftist women with creative writing degrees, along with a beta male and a Gannettoid lifer who is boring as hell.

Then the piece descends into total madness:
The Constitution is more than 4,618 words plus 27 amendments. The original document - which endorsed slavery - cannot be read without the amendments. It also can't be understood without knowledge of the 220 years of Supreme Court interpretations of the document. Those interpretations maintain the integrity of the Constitution while reflecting the evolution of our people.
So carry it. Read it. Value it. But do not separate it from the history that shapes it.
This is bullshit and completely retarded.

Slavery was a reality at the time.  What do these dumbasses at the Register want?  To be able to hop in the Delorean Time Machine and change it?  You can't do that!

Besides, Article I Section 9 ends importation of slaves.  That was a start.

What about the 13th Amendment?  How about the 14th Amendment?

What about the Civil War?

No, these ASSHOLES at the Register want to wallow in the fact that America once had slavery and use it to trash anybody who carries around the Constitution, quotes from the Amended Constitution, or does anything with it other than using it as toilet paper

Our politicians take an OATH and SWEAR to uphold the Constitution.  That's kind of a big fucking deal, don't you think, Laura Hollingsworth and crew?  So when you get politicians passing bills into law that they haven't fully read or understood the text of (or don't care), and which has provisions in them that are entirely unconstitutional (like the individual mandate to purchase health insurance) no wonder some of The People get upset!!!  What are we basing our laws on, anyway?  Whatever Rekha Basu or Andie Dominick agrees with?  Whatever sort of "victories" Obama can come up with?

Christ, how stupid are you idiots at the Register?  What a bunch of fucking morons.

Now they're trying to turn the Constitution into a phallic symbol.  Snicker snicker.  Isn't that funny?  We're so funny with our creative writing degrees and our asshole MORAL SUPERIORITY!

You know what, Register Editorial Bored?  You're a bunch of fucking losers.  Your political orthodoxy is a loser.  Your rabid partisan lifestyle is a loser.  Is it any wonder why subscribers and advertisers are leaving the Des Moines Register and other newspapers?  You only want to cater to the 14% of Iowans who classify themselves as "liberal", and fuck everybody else.  What a stupid business model that is.

I'm sure some of you ask, State 29, why do you even bother to look anymore?  I long ago quit subscribing to newspapers, and I'd been faithful for decades.  Why pay for bullshit?  It's been forever since I've advertised in a paper.  I do like to stay connected to the community and keep up with State news, and for that I check out the internet versions of newspapers, but as the leftists push the envelope further and further with their stupidity I wonder why I even bother.  Luckily, I don't click through any ads, plus I use ad blockers to eliminate what I can.  I certainly don't comment on anything online ever, except here in this space.

What to do?  I suppose I could give up and ignore everything, or I can fight back with words.  It sucks that Iowa's premiere newspaper has fallen into the shit.  You don't think it can go much lower than Manitoba Snowplow, but it does.  The Register equating the Constitution with a phallic symbol is stupid, mindless, and idiotic.  But then they are, aren't they?

Rick Green Sure Is Boring

The latest Des Moines Register editor, Rick Green, has a long and boring "Hello" column in the paper today.

Does anybody give a crap about Rick Green after reading that?  Can you even make it through without falling asleep?

Michael Gartner, a person who this blog has never liked, wrote a brutally honest column in Cityview the other day about the arrival of Green.  Here's a taste:
why does Gannett keep putting outsiders into the top news job at the Register? Why not pick someone who knows the city and the state? How is Rick Green — by all accounts a nice fellow and a strong editor — going to hit the ground running when he doesn’t know the issues, the people, the history and the rhythms of this state?

...The Register was once a destination newspaper — a place where reporters and editors hoped to spend their careers. But no longer. The last three editors averaged five years here and then went on to Indianapolis and Detroit and Cincinnati. We’ve become a branch-office town for Gannett.

And that’s a shame.

At any rate, welcome to town, Mr. Green. We hope you’ll stay long enough to unpack your bags, to realize it’s not Chillicothe or Cincinnati or Palm Springs, your previous stops on the Gannett career train. We’re Iowa.
Michael Gartner may be a corrupt prick, but he's absolutely correct here.

Boring may be an improvement for the Register, considering the regime of Nurse Ratched aka Carolyn Washburn

Her super-sized far-leftist ass oversaw the further downsizing of the newspaper into an absurd comic strip where you end up getting some hirsute queen "business reporter" quoting a notorious Marxist Jew-hater about economic issues in the state and Rekha Basu using a phrase in a column that refers to a man giving a woman carpet burns on her legs while engaging in rough anal sex

The inmates were definitely running the asylum under Washburn.

Did UI Law Dean Gail Agrawal Illegally Vote In The Last Election?

From yesterday's Iowa City Press-Citizen ("Law dean: Bar could've done more on retention vote"):
Leaders of Iowa's legal community were surprised by the successful campaign to oust three Supreme Court justices who backed a ruling to legalize gay marriage, and didn't do enough to counter it, the new dean of the University of Iowa law school said.

``We have not done as much as we could have and should have to educate the electorate about judicial independence, the importance of an impartial judiciary, the role of judges, and the general purpose of a retention election,'' College of Law Dean Gail Agrawal said in an interview...

...Agrawal said she didn't vote in the November election because she hadn't registered in Iowa. She cast a ballot in Kansas, where she had spent the last four years as dean of the University of Kansas law school.
Let's move beyond her "the people are stupid" comments because that's typical of a law school where they have 1 registered Republican out of 50 law professors.

Having moved from Kansas back to Iowa this summer myself, and right around the same time that Agrawal appears to have moved, I thought that it was kind of strange she voted in Kansas since the election was in November and I was easily able to vote in Iowa.

Somebody else ("bbodie") caught this in the comments:
I find it interesting that the Dean of the Law School admitted that she cast a ballot in Kansas in the Nov election when the U of I law web site stated that she became Dean in July of 2010. I am assuming that one must move to the location of one's job to become Dean. By November she should have been an Iowa resident. As a certified Iowa election offical I know that to vote where you USED to live is not acceptable. You are supposed to vote for the people that will now represent you. I have had to ask people who admitted that they moved a few blocks away to go to a different polling place because they now lived in a different polling precinct.  Iowa now has same day registration and for the Dean of the Law School not to understand the law is interesting to say the least. She voted for Kansas officals without being a Kansasan. She should have known the law.
Dean Agrawal and her husband, Dr Naurang Agrawal, closed on their house on Lois Lane in North Liberty on August 20, 2010. Iowa law requires you to register your motor vehicle with the county treasurer's office in your county within 30 days from the date you establish residency. She would have more than enough chances to change voter registration at that time. Iowa also has same day voter registration.

Does any reporter want to ask Dean Agrawal why she voted in Kansas when she was by then clearly an Iowa resident with a job and a house here?  Anybody want to rifle through the records to see if Dean Agrawal has registered to vote in Iowa?  Maybe look at the license plates on her car?  Has she switched her driver's license?  Or are laws only for the "little people" like me, Dean Agrawal?  The "too stupid to know what they were doing" public.

It's Called Cincinnati Because They Do Everything Backwards There

Des Moines Register Editor Carolyn Washburn is leaving to ruin the Cincinnati Enquirer and gave readers a farewell note that almost nobody commented on.

Washburn was known mostly for her lousy ass performance as a grumpy "Nurse Ratched" moderator at the Republican (pre-caucus) Presidential Debate in December 2007.

Washburn also led the Register to further layoffs, staff reductions, rearranging desks, and writing more and more hard left editorials that few Iowans liked.

I read a variety of newspaper web sites every day, and I find it curious how few people comment on most of the DMR's articles these days as opposed to a few years back when comments first started in the online edition.  I think the DMR has done such a great job of pissing off Republicans, conservatives, and even Independents to the point that they have given up.  I know I mostly have.  Every now and then you see a lot of comments on something, but most of the time you just have this small gang of the usual leftist suspects sitting in an echo chamber and throwing smoke bombs.  Who wants to party with those assholes?

In one of her later acts as editor, Washburn allowed Rekha Basu to use the phrase "Manitoba Snowplow" in a column.  Here is the definition of a Manitoba Snowplow, according to the Urban Dictionary:
A sexual act in which you are giving a girl anal and then push her arms out from under her and hump her across the floor.

"I manitoba snowplowed this girl so far she got carpet burn!"
So it is only fitting that we send off Carolyn Washburn with an equally disgusting Urban Dictionary term, Cincinnati Bowtie, seeing how she's going to Cincinnati:
When you reverse titty-fuck a girl. So your balls and cock are upside-down and it looks like she is wearing a fleshy bow-tie. It's called "cincinnati" because they do everything backwards there.

My bitch was complaining all night because I kept ramming my anus into her nose, but dang, I was really in the mood for a cinicinnati bowtie
Bye bye Nurse Ratched, don't let the door hit you on your gigantic fat ass!

Cincinnati, she's all yours!

At-Risk Youth Program In Iowa City Run By At-Risk Adult

From the Iowa City Press-Citizen under the headline New program aims to help at-risk youth:
Jaron Varner said growing up in Detroit, he could have found himself in a lot of trouble with gangs.

Instead, thanks to an aunt who lived in Iowa, he spent his summers in Iowa City, attending sports and theater camps at the University of Iowa. He also was ushered into sports leagues through the Detroit Police and other community groups.

He said he hopes to provide some of the opportunities to stay out of trouble to at-risk youth through his new company, Renaissance Remedial Services...

...Varner, who previously was an owner of the restaurant Verde in Iowa City, said he has a background in youth services, having worked with Rep. Wayne Ford, D-Des Moines, and his organization, Urban Dreams, as well as Disproportionate Minority Confinement, the Iowa City Youth Athletic League and the Iowa City School District. However, he said he wanted to do even more with at-risk youth, many of whom come from minority groups...

...Varner said he plans for Renaissance Remedial Services, which he started in October after three years of work and "every penny of my savings," to work with elementary- and junior high-aged youth. With social worker and therapist Virgil Gooding of Cedar Rapids as his clinical director, he said he wants to work with the children to prevent them from getting into trouble with the law, drugs and other problems.
First, don't you think Jaron Varner should not be in trouble with the law, drugs, and other problems?

On December 20, 2010, Jaron Varner plead guilty in Johnson County court (Case 06521 AGCR091463) to Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Marijuana, fined $315, sentenced to 55 days in jail by Judge Stephen C. Gerard II.

Varner also plead guilty to Driving While License Denied Or Revoked and fined $1000 by Gerard.

Who wrote this story?  Rob Daniel of the Iowa City Press-Citizen.

Rob The Reporter, did you bother to check the background of your subject?  It's not difficult.  All you have to do is look at a couple of web sites.  Start A Case Search Here.

Where are the editors?  Do you just rubber stamp whatever story comes through the door?  What did super-sized Des Moines Register reporterette Nancy Clark say back in 2005 about blogs:

Know that if the information is coming from the mainstream media -the accredited reporters, broadcasters and photojournalists -they are following strict professional guidelines that the looser outlets don't require. The information has been verified, has been scrutinized by editors, has been fact-checked and proofed.
So how does Jaron Varner earn his money? Is it from the school district? Some government agency?

Who is paying the salary of a guy who has been recently busted for drugs and is currently working with elementary and junior high school aged kids?

Do you dumbass reporters want to ask that question instead?

Iowa Was Targeted By Democrats

It's been an eye-opener watching the far left descend into depths of insanity following the shooting in Tucson yesterday.

Why, it seemed to be Sarah Palin's fault that Congresswoman Giffords was shot because some web site Palin was involved with "targeted" a number of races around the country.  Nevermind the fact that the shooter has turned out to be a young liberal who is obviously mentally ill.

The image you see here is from DLC site.  Iowa's got a target on it.  So everybody's guilty of "targeting" specific races.  But nobody is saying to go out and shoot anybody.

It's become almost impossible to look at any news sites about this story because the comments are filled with such political anger by the left.

I'm sure it won't be long until we see that idiot Rekha Basu or some unnamed editorial at the DMR go on and on about the "target" issue.  Maybe they'll wise up and retreat into the usual baloney about guns.  That's a safe place from which to fire on the public, don't you think?  Surely they'll go on trying to tie the recent changes in Iowa's gun laws concerning permits to the Tuscon shooting, laws which were passed by the Democrat-majority Legislature and signed by Democrat Chet Culver.  Perhaps they'll even sneak in a snarky sentence about Bob Vander Plaats and the legal ouster of those 3 Iowa Supreme Court Justices, even though it's entirely unrelated.  The far left is good at cheap shots and non sequiturs.

Within a day we'll get the Letters To The Editors at newspapers around the state by the usual suspects.  They'll be able to repeat falsehoods and use the word "tea party" in a slanderous way and get away with it because newspapers will print any old crap sent to them as long as it's by a kooky leftist.

The political far left is flailing.  They're trying to score points at a time when the last thing 99% of people want to see is that sort of crap tossed around.  It's sad to see, but that's how they behave.

Jason Clayworth Quotes Jew-Hater David Goodner For DMR Economic Piece

Jason Clayworth (far left), the "business" reporter for the Des Moines Register, has a story today ("Budget Surplus Under Scrutiny") which signals full-on war between the Register and the Branstad administration:
Average Iowans will see massive cuts to education and human services so Gov.-elect Terry Branstad can offer tax breaks to corporations, speakers said Friday during a public budget hearing at the Capitol.

The point of contention: Branstad's plan to use $327.4 million of projected surplus from the budget year that ends June 30 for tax breaks instead of applying it to a projected deficit in the following year's budget.

"In my opinion, any responsible financial manager would use the projected surplus to plug the financial deficit," said David Goodner, of Des Moines, a member of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement.
The first quote in the story is by David Goodner, the notorious Jew-hater and Communist.

Doesn't that say it all?  What an agenda the clowns at the Register have.  What a tiny rolodex they use.  Is the Des Moines Register good for anything anymore?  I hate to look at it.  What a depressing rag.

Clayworth, you big hairy dummy, maybe the State of Iowa could use some "massive cuts to education", seeing how the head of the IASB decided to pay herself $367,000 a year and how Senator Tom "The Crook" Harkin got millions in Federal money for the IASB which was apparently funneled through various companies and people in order to launder some of the money for Harkin's campaign.

What's wrong with tax cuts for corporations?  As long as it's applied to tax rates, what's the big deal?  I'm against targeted deals where some companies are favored over others.  Companies might actually be able to afford to hire more people because of lower tax rates.

Why is "education" so sacrosanct?  Look at the University of Iowa today in this story in the Iowa City Press-Citizen.  They've been paying a professor to not work for over 2 years, and who has been convicted of assault and is being retried on felony sexual abuse charges.  There are other faculty who are facing serious legal charges, but are still on the payroll but not working.

What Branstad is proposing is far better than anything David "Jew Hater" Goodner and his idiot reporter buddy Jason Clayworth could possibly come up with.  I know exactly their kind of utopia:  punishingly high tax rates on "evil corporations" with the money diverted over to government entities, "public interest groups" or "non-profits" involving them or their friends.
