Dear Newt Gingrich, Please Go Away Again

Could there be a more detestable Republican in 2011 than Newt Gingrich?  Yes, there could be.  I can think of some:  Mitt Romneycare, Mike Hucksterbee, John Resign, Ru Paul, Donald Trump, Mitch Daniels, and so on.

Newt wasn't always hate-able, unless you were a rabid partisan Democrat in 1995 in which case you hated every Republican.  But that's par for the course.

Newt had some good ideas with the Contract With America, most of which President Bill Clinton signed.  Nobody ever gave Gingrich credit for helping to control spending in the House.  During the 90s it was always "Bill Clinton cutting the deficit" even though he didn't do jack shit.  Besides, where did all spending bills come from?  Other than Dan Rostenkowski's ass.

So Newt has decided he wants to be President.  Never mind that most Republicans consider him damaged goods following his resignation in 1998.

Yesterday, on Meet The Depressed, Gingrich said he supported a variation of the Obamacare Individual Mandate and stupidly analogized the forced purchase of health insurance under threat of fine and possibly imprisonment via the IRS with the forced purchase of automobile insurance.

Newt, buddy, you dumb ass, you might want to review Iowa's Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law.  You see, Iowa does not have mandated automobile insurance.  Most people do carry automobile insurance, but there are other options available.

Because the Individual Mandate is such a heated issue with Republicans and Conservatives (and a lot of Independents and many Democrats) hating it, mostly because it's Unconstitutional and Un-American, Newt was probably too busy crawling under the desk in an attempt to lick the boots of David Gregory to realize what a faux pas he had made.  Today, after "clarifying" his position, Newt is now all of a sudden against the Individual Mandate.

It doesn't really matter.  Newt Gingrich was never going anywhere in Iowa, or anywhere else for that matter and this just nails it.  He should just move back to Virginia with the rest of the Republican and Democrat whores and ex-whores and do the lobbying thing for the rest of his life.  Maybe he could find a new skirt to chase while he's at it.
