Iowa Supreme Court Justices Continue To Ruin Everything For Everybody

From the Council Bluff Daily Nonpariel:
The Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday that a Waterloo teenager who was injured on a field trip could pursue a lawsuit because the release forms signed by her mother waiving personal injury claims as a condition of participation violate public policy and are unenforceable.

“We believe a strong policy in favor of protecting children must trump any competing interest” to nullify a child’s personal injury claim, the court said in overturning a lower court decision...

...The state argued that if the liability waivers were unenforceable, youths would never get the opportunity to participate in field trips, said Geoff Greenwood, spokesman for Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller.

Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber said the ruling could have far-reaching consequences. He said the county began looking into their programs, such as day camps provided by Pottawattamie County Conservation, as soon as the verdict was released Friday morning.

“We will be contacting our insurance carriers to make sure we are covered,” Wilber said.

But the ruling won’t just affect government programs, he added. Youth sports programs, school field trips and church camps could also feel the effects of the ruling.
Whatever you do, don't get rid of any of these justices who seem to just make law up out of thin air and wreck everything but everybody else!  If you do, you'll be part of a Crusade or an Inquisition or part of a Witch Trial, or who bullies, hates, and is narrow-minded.

These rogue judges all need to be kicked out of office at the next opportunity, particularly Justice Brent Appel, who basically bought his robe from Tom Vilsack because he donated such huge amounts of money to the Democratic Party and candidates.  Appel was also nominated by the Iowa Judicial Nomination Committee, which is currently comprised of 86% Democrats and 7% Republicans.
