Bruce Braley Is Tone Deaf

The DMR had another stupid article on Sunday that got some quick quotes from a couple of Iowa Congressmen about how the political landscape has shifted since Obama ruined the chances for pretty much every Democrat across the country in the 2010 races and beyond.

I love the quote from the sweaty, creepy-looking Bruce Braley. Something about how Democrats need to do a better job of explaining the benefits of the stimulus package.

If you look at Recovery.gov, the lousy web site with fake zip codes and fake Congressional districts to see where the money has been blown, you'll see that in Iowa almost all of the stimulus money has gone to school districts.

I was clicking around on the map and found some town called Numa in Appanoose County in southern Iowa. The town of Numa got $99,000. I've never heard of Numa before. How big could it be? 109 people in the entire town!

For the location of all "businesses" in Numa, total award for the location was $238,741. $10,269 went to the Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, which is enough to "save" two jobs. Wow, they pay for crap. $30,387 went to something called Bear Creek Archeology, enough to save 0.90 jobs. But wait, Bear Creek is based out of Cresco, which is located on the exact opposite end of the state near the Minnesota border!

Hey there, Bruce Braley, do you or any other Democrat want to explain what the heck is going on here? And could you hurry it up because we want answers before we kick you out of office.

The rest of the Braley quote in the article is typical Democrat-bot-speak. "Blah blah blah, health care, blah blah blah, Washington, blah blah blah, jobs, blah blah blah, lost their homes, blah blah blah."

Shut up, Braley. You look sweaty and are kind of creepy-looking.

Anybody announced against Braley yet? Why yes, a 30 year old Republican lawyer from Independence, Ben Lange, has announced. Whoever gets the Republican nomination likely has a slam dunk at becoming a Congressman. All you have to do is attach Bruce Braley to Obama, which is easy. Then pass this out to everybody you meet:

Democrats are going to get destroyed in the November elections. Michael Barone and Charlie Cook are predicting doom.

  3. Bear Creek Archaeology does federal complience work as do many small archaeology firms around the state. Projects that are getting federal money are required to do a survey to check for archaeological deposits and standing historic structures that may be impacted by construction and medigate and record them. It isn't some kind of conspiracy, this is done all the time and usually there isn't a firm locally who can do the required work.
