Drake University journalism professor Lee Jolliffe has a letter in the Des Moines Register today that trashes Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama.
Some key sections:
It's somehow appropriate that Oprah Winfrey would endorse Barack Obama. She brought us Jerry Springer lite (her TV show), counseling lite (Dr. Phil), and now it's candidate lite (Obama). He's a low-cal, "say-anything" campaigner.
Obama has declared he'd sit down with the radical leaders or enemy nations without any preconditions, thus granting them legitimacy. He even said he'd attack Pakistan, a U.S. ally - and an unstable nuclear power...
...Like most of Obama's supporters, she's being brought in from out of Iowa. Weekly buses come in from Chicago bringing his campaign's volunteers.
Obama knows from teaching constitutional law what a U.S. president actually can do. He should stop blowing smoke.
Iowa Dems should look at candidates with the honesty to promise what's actually possible and the experience to fulfill their promises: Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson.
Well, she's absolutely right about Obama.
And she's totally wrong about Hillary. I can't see Hillary getting any of her agenda through Congress, even with a Democratic majority. Bill Clinton couldn't get anything through Congress until the Republicans took over in 1995.
If you don't remember Lee Jolliffe, she's the dimwitted Drake University journalism professor who went to court to deny Ralph Nader a place on the ballot in Iowa in 2004.
Run, Ralph, Run!
Funny how the bad press for Obama seems to be directly linked to his polling numbers.

Now how can you call it dimwitted to have tried to block Nader from the 2004 ballot? This is the guy who brought you George Bush in 2000. And he was happy to take Republican funds to spoil another election in 2004 and give us 4 more years of abysmal governance! What an egotist! Ralph Nader has ruined whatever reputation he once had, being the Republicans' shill.
