Marc Hansen Is Kind Of Gay

Yesterday I talked about how it took six days before anybody at the Des Moines Register made any mention of Chet Culver's ad trashing the Earthpork Rainforest scam, and then it was a brief mention by David Yepsen.

Let the issue change to something insignificant, like some ex-jock color commentator using the word "gay" during a televised football game and a Des Moines Register columnist is all over it in record-breaking speed.

Marc Hansen, as most people know, is a rotten columnist. He writes in that clipped, Gannettoid style of mostly-sentence-paragraphs that USA Today popularized. He chimes in on the matter the day after the news story broke.

This shows how out of touch the columnists at the Des Moines Register are. They can't spotlight a campaign ad by a gubernatorial candidate that trashes a Iowa-taxpayer-sucking boondoggle of a project that won't die, but they can quickly write about some guy using the word "gay" in a benign but politically incorrect-to-them way on TV.
