Vilsack On Combatting Perception

I almost missed this doozy from Vilsack on Saturday in the DM Register:
Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack proposed Friday requiring a 60 percent majority of the Iowa Legislature to approve increases in sales or income taxes.

Vilsack tossed the idea out as a way of combatting the perception that Iowa is a high-tax state.
I have an idea.

Why not change the state logo from "Iowa: A Place To Grow" to:

"Iowa: A Place To File"

"Iowa: A State of Fees"

"Iowa: Bend Over And Take It"

"Iowa: A Good Place For Overworked CPAs"

"Iowa: Not A High Tax State Compared To New Jersey, But Not By Much"

Or you could get somebody like State Senator Dennis Black to consider shifting more tax collection burdens to private businesses. I can see it now. Want better roads? Force automobile dealers to impose a $300 tax on each new car sold. Want cleaner highways? Force Subway franchisees to impose a 50 cent tax on every 6 inch sub, $1 on every foot-long. Something like that, right?
